Aloha! I’m Diane Ito, your go-to realtor and Hawaii specialist, here to keep you in the loop on all the exciting happenings around our beautiful island. Whether you’re considering making Hawaii your home, planning a visit, or simply want to know what's going on in the community, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a roundup of upcoming events you won’t want to miss this spring!
Pool Reopening at Manoa Valley District Park
Looking for ways to enjoy the beautiful weather in Hawaii? I’m excited to share that the pool at the Manoa Valley District Park will be reopening in early June 2025! It’s set to open just in time for the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Summer Fun Program. Whether you’re a local or considering moving to this stunning area, the pool is a great spot to enjoy the outdoors and cool off. A list of all the pools operated by the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation and links to their schedules can be found at bit.ly/OahuPools.
As someone who knows the ins and outs of Manoa Valley, I can tell you this is just one of the many reasons why this neighborhood is a gem for families!
Keiki Street Festival in Our Kakaʻako
If you're new to the island or looking for fun family events, the Keiki Street Festival in Our Kakaʻako is a must! On March 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join me in celebrating Hawaiian culture with a day of music, hula performances, food, and crafts. The event takes place in Kaka’ako on Keawe Street, Auahi Street, and Coral Street.
As a Hawaii specialist, I love seeing the unique blend of culture, creativity, and community that Our Kakaʻako represents. It’s a great place to live and experience the spirit of Aloha, whether you’re just visiting or considering making it your home.
Hawaii Foodiecon & Spring Expo
For all the food lovers out there (and yes, I’m one of them!), the Hawaii Foodiecon & Spring Expo is the place to be. Happening at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall on March 29-30, this event will feature over 200 food vendors showcasing some of Hawaii’s best eats. Plus, there will be a Spring Expo where you can discover unique items you won’t find anywhere else.
If you’re thinking about moving to Hawaii, events like this show you just how vibrant and diverse our local food scene is—just one more reason why Hawaii is such a special place to call home.
Spring Break Special at the Battleship Missouri Memorial
Did you know that the Battleship Missouri Memorial offers special discounts for kamaʻāina and military families? Through March 30, families can enjoy one free child admission per paying adult. Explore the USS Missouri, walk the historic Surrender Deck, and enjoy educational experiences that bring history to life.
If you're thinking about buying a home in the area, living near such iconic sites like Pearl Harbor and the Battleship Missouri can add a whole new layer to your Hawaii experience. As a realtor with deep knowledge of the island, I can help you find a home near the places that matter most to you.
7th Annual Grand Lānai Restaurant Week at International Market Place
As a foodie and real estate expert, I highly recommend checking out the 7th Annual Grand Lānai Restaurant Week at International Market Place from April 4-13. This is the perfect time to indulge in exclusive menus from some of Waikiki’s best restaurants, like Eating House 1849, Crackin’ Kitchen, and Liliha Bakery. Plus, live entertainment adds to the festive atmosphere!
As someone who loves sharing the best experiences Hawaii has to offer, I can assure you that living in Waikiki or nearby areas offers easy access to great dining, shopping, and entertainment—ideal for those who want the best of island life right at their doorstep.
